Xiao Hong Pao or "Small Red Robe" Oolong Tea is produced from tea plants that are descendants of the most renowned tea from the "Bohea" or Wu Yi Shan famous growing region, "Da Hong Pao" or "Great Red Robe".

Because Xiao Hong Pao Oolong is harvested from plants that are the 5th generation or younger clones, the leaves contain the same genetic material as the famed DHP.

They are grown in similar terroir, the creviced Wu Yi Shan (Wu Yi Mountains) that provide the same mineral characteristics of the famed "Rock Soil" from the cliffs of Wu Yi Shan but do not command the higher Da Hong Pao Oolong pricing.
