Amongst the 14 Famous Mountains of XiShuangBaNa is Ba Da. Here, for centuries, local ethnic minority villagers have harvested leaves from ancient trees typical of the 1700+ year old tea tree shown below.

The tealeaves are harvested, sun dried and naturally aged, allowing microbial development as oxidation and fermentation gradually occur. With time, the Ba Da Qing tea character continues to develop into a beautiful Sheng Puerh. 

While 30 years of aging is considered the threshold to reach advanced cup character in a Sheng Puerh, 10 years of aging begins to show significant character development, making the tea enjoyable and healthy, signifying the experience that will come with more time.
